MANILA, Philippines — After 20 years of holding office along Chino Roces Avenue in Makati City, the Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) is moving to the Media Resource Plaza (MRP) building at the corner of Mola and Pasong Tirad Streets, also in Makati City, just two blocks away from its current home.
The MRP building will now house all the units of the Inquirer Group of Companies (IGC) — PDI, INQUIRER.net, Inquirer MegaMobile, and Inquirer Academy.
The relocation is in line with the IGC strategy of optimizing current and future operations by harnessing the benefits of technology and achieving closer collaboration between the business and editorial groups.
The move is also in step with post-pandemic global office trends where efficiency can be maximized and cost can be better managed at individual and inter-department levels through a shared — and smart — work environment.
Employees can just plug in their devices at any of the workstations within their department’s area, an option made possible by the IGC’s continuing adoption of the hybrid work setup.
PDI expects to complete the transfer and start operations at the new office in September this year.
