Vintage bomb found in front of Intramuros bank in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — A vintage bomb was found Friday during an excavation in front of a bank located in Manila’s walled city, the Manila Police District (MPD) reported.

The explosive was found at around 4:00 p.m. along Muralla corner Anda St. in Intramuros.

It was discovered by a construction operator who was part of the excavation in the area.

Elements of the MPD and the Philippine Coast Guard’s (PCG) explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team arrived at the scene to recover the bomb.

The item is now under the “proper safekeeping” of the PCG-EOD.
