Rider dead after motorbike crashes into parked truck in Quezon province

LUCENA CITY — A 25-year-old motorcycle rider died Wednesday after he accidentally bumped into a parked truck in Pagbilao town in Quezon province, police said Thursday, June 22.

Laurence Uy was traveling along the national highway around 11:55 p.m. when his vehicle slammed into a parked wing van truck in Barangay Silangang Malicboy, a spot report from Quezon police said.

Due to the strong impact, the victim suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot.

Investigation continues to determine the reason Uy was not able to avoid to truck.

Police did not specify if the parked truck had a reflectorized or early warning device to alarm approaching vehicles.
