Motorcycle crashes into parked truck in Quezon province; 1 dead, 2 hurt

LUCENA CITY – A motorcycle rider died, while two others were injured after they accidentally bumped into a parked trailer truck in Mauban town in Quezon province before midnight Monday, police said.

John Mark Gonzales (driver) and his two back riders, Jansen Franel Gonzales and Pipoy Gonzales, all cousins – were traveling towards the town proper when their vehicle slammed into a parked
trailer truck in Barangay Polo around 11:45 p.m., a report from Quezon police said.

Rescuers rushed the three were rushed to the Mauban District Hospital for treatment.

Pipoy was declared dead on arrival while John Mark and Jansen Franel were still undergoing treatment at the said hospital.

According to investigators, the parked truck, which was unloading a crane, had no early warning device to alarm approaching vehicles.
