Drug bust in Parañaque yields almost P49 million worth of ‘shabu’

PDEA report says P592 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in January, according to Malacañang.

MANILA, Philippines — Three individuals were arrested following a buy-bust operation in Parañaque city.

Nearly P49 million worth of suspected crystal methamphetamine or ‘shabu’ were allegedly confiscated from the suspects, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported.

PDEA operatives identified those nabbed as Normina Nandang Egoy, 38; Alvino Ogali Egoy, 47; and Alfredo Ogali Egoy, 48.

They were apprehended in their house in Barangay Don Bosco at around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The drugs weighed 7.2 kilograms.

Other pieces of evidence confiscated from the suspects were four mobile phones, notebooks, bank slips, a 500-peso bill, bank cards and various financial documents.

The suspects are currently under police custody.

They will face charges for violating Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
