Police nab man, seize P23.4 million ‘shabu’ in Parañaque buy-bust
MANILA, Philippines — Authorities arrested a 41-year-old man and confiscated at least P23.4 million worth of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) during a buy-bust operation in Parañaque City early Saturday morning.
The Southern Police District (SPD) said members of the Parañaque City Police Substation 4 and Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) carried out the operation in Brgy. San Dionisio and arrested Jonnie Romo, 41, at 2:50 a.m.
It added that law enforcers seized from the suspect a total of eight knot-tied transparent plastic sachets containing suspected “shabu” (crystal meth), two medium-sized plastic tea bags sealed with the label “GUAR YUN WANG”, one medium-sized transparent plastic sachet, genuine ₱1000 bills on top of 139 pieces of buy-bust cash, a blue-green eco bag, brown envelope, and a weighing scale.
Police said that the estimated value of the illegal drugs confiscated from the suspect was at least P23.4 million.
Police also said that a complaint for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act will be filed against the suspect before the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s Office.
