Woman shot dead in Quezon

LUCENA CITY — A woman was shot and killed by a motorcycle-riding gunman at a beach resort in Sariaya town in Quezon province on Saturday, May 27.
Sariaya police reported that Aiza Magboo, 34, a resident of the locality, was standing inside a nipa hut in a resort in Barangay (village) Guis-Guis Talon at around 5:20 p.m. when a man armed with a handgun suddenly appeared and repeatedly shot her.
The gunman fled aboard a motorcycle driven by his cohort and left his target dead on the spot.
In a phone interview on Sunday morning, Sariaya police chief Lt. Col. Rommel Sobrido said the killing was “drug-related” but did not elaborate.
The police are conducting further investigations to identify and arrest the killer and his cohort.
