The gunman fled after the shooting aboard a motorcycle and left Garcia dead on the spot.

Mara was taken to Lucena MMG hospital but also died, Police Corporal Eduardo Nartea Jr., case investigator said in a phone interview.

“The gunman was apparently waiting for his target (Garcia) to pass by as it was his daily routine,” Nartea said.

The police said Garcia had no criminal record on their file and also had no derogatory record in the barangay.

“He was just a plain tricycle driver,” the investigator said.

The police are conducting further investigation to establish the motive behind the killing and launched a manhunt to arrest the gunman.
