1 dead, 1 hurt as motorcycle crashes into parked truck in Batangas

A rider dies while another was seriously hurt in an accident involving two motorcycles in Batangas province

LUCENA CITY — A male motorcyclist died and his female back-rider was injured on Thursday after their vehicle crashed into a parked trailer truck in Taal town in Batangas province.

In a report, the Batangas police said the unidentified riders aboard a black Rusi motorcycle crashed at 1:45 a.m. into a parked trailer truck on the side of the national road in Barangay Carsuche.

Both riders suffered injuries and were rushed by rescuers to Batangas Provincial Hospital in Lemery town, but the motorcycle driver was declared dead on arrival.

The investigators, citing information from the truck driver, Barbecho Joemar Gutang, said the vehicle was parked due to mechanical failure.
