CQCU starts slow in second round

THE CEBU Queen City United Football Club (CQCU FC) faltered in its first match in the second round of the United Football League Second Division Tournament after it got routed by Pachanga FC, 0-4, yesterday at the University of Makati football field.

CQCU FC head coach Mario Ceniza said that Pachanga, the division leader, was simply too strong, especially with its replacement players.

“They are too keen and focused in advancing to Division 1,” said Ceniza.  “It was a learning experience for us.”

Ceniza added that despite the loss, the team played better than it did when it first faced Pachanga back in February, wherein it also bowed 0-1.

“Their game today (yesterday) was better actually. In terms of attack, they created a lot of chances. They were not just able to convert them.”

According to Ceniza, CQCU FC also had limited manpower as the new recruits are still trying to get used to the team and the tournament. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
