Thousands feel Falcon’s ire in Metro Manila-PNP

MANILA, Philippines — MANILA, Philippines — Thousands were affected by the continuous heavy rains which flooded several areas around Metro Manila Thursday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Friday.

Citing reports from the Eastern Police District, PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said that 1,426 families or roughly 4,747 persons living in Marikina have been evacuated to Nangka, Malanday, and H. Bautista Elementary Schools, and the Malanday evacuation center.

In Pasig, Cruz stated that 38 families or 150 persons were taken to the covered court in the evacuation center in Santolan village.

Citing reports from the Quezon City Police District’s Police Station 2, the spokesman said that 26 families or 80 persons have been evacuated to Barangay Halls in Dona Imelda and Damayan villages.

Police Station 6 reported the evacuation of 146 families or 480 persons to Barangay Hall in Bagong Silangan village, said Cruz.

He added that Police Station 11 reported the evacuation of 12 families or 30 persons to Malangin Hall in Dona Imelda village.
