MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) Maj. Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr., has assigned several senior police officials to new posts effective Monday, May 8. 

Acorda assigned the chief of the directorial staff, Lt. Gen. Michael John Dubria, as the new deputy chief for operations, the police force’s third highest post.

Dubria replaced Maj. Gen. Jonnel Estomo.

Estomo replaced Maj. Gen. Bernard Banac as head of the Directorate for Plans. Banac now serves as chief of the Directorate for Information and Communications Technology Management. He replaced Maj. Gen Valeriano De Leon retired on May 7. 

Appointed to head the PNP’s fourth-highest post was Maj. Gen. Emmanuel Peralta, former chief of the Directorate for Operations, will now head directorial staff. Peralta replaced Dubria. 

Meanwhile, the regional director of Police Regional Office 6 (Western Visayas), Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco will take over Peralta’s position as the new head of the Directorate for Operations. 

 Last May 2, Acorda, who became the new PNP chief on April 24, also assigned five brigadier generals to new posts.
