MANILA, Philippines — Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr., chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), has assigned five brigadier generals to new posts, effective Tuesday, May 2.

Below are the names of the officers and their new posts:

  • Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr.  –  officer-in-charge of the Directorate for Intelligence
  • Brig. Gen, Rommel Francisco D Marbil – officer-in-charge of the Directorate for Comptrollership
  • Brig. Gen. Vincent S Calanoga – acting regional director of the Eastern Visayas Police Regional Office (PRO 8)
  • Brig. Gen. Roger L Quesada – acting deputy regional director for Administration for the Bicol Police Regional Office (PRO 5)
  • Brig. Gen. Limuel E Obon – acting chief of the Human Rights Affairs Office in the Office of the Chief, PNP

“I am confident that these new Officers-in-Charge and Acting Directors will bring their expertise and experience to their respective positions and lead their units with the utmost professionalism, integrity, and dedication to service,” Acorda said in a statement.

He added that the new appointments “reflect the police force’s commitment to ensuring effective leadership and management across various units and offices.”

“The police remain steadfast to upholding its mandate of serving and protecting the Filipino people with utmost enthusiasm, commitment, and respect for human rights,” the PNP said.
