LUCENA CITY — Seven drug suspects were arrested this weekend and yielded more than P400,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations in Cavite and Laguna provinces.
Raysan Bantilan and Josephine Lontabo were collared at around 1 a.m. Sunday by police anti-illegal drugs operatives in Bacoor City, Cavite after they sold P500 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay (village) Molino 3, the Police Region 4A said in a report.
Authorities seized from the suspects five plastic sachets of shabu weighing 20 grams, which has an estimated value of P136,000.
Police also confiscated a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug trade.
The same police team also busted Russel Cabalejo in another sting operation in Barangay Panapaan 3 at 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 6.
Seized from the suspect were two sachets of shabu worth P27,000 and a mobile phone containing a list of his supposed drug transactions.
In Imus town also in Cavite, Daniel Lagrana was nabbed by local drug enforcers in Barangay Malagasang 2-F on Saturday morning.
Lagrana yielded nine sachets of shabu with an estimated value of P69,000.
Meanwhile, policemen in Calauan, Laguna arrested Wilvic Abalos, Jay-R Valdez, and Alvin Capuchino in a drug bust operation in Barangay Silangan around 11:55 p.m. on Saturday.
The suspects were caught in possession of 11 sachets of shabu with a total street value of P172,500 and a digital weighing scale.
All arrested suspects were tagged as street-level individuals or SLI on their respective localities’ drug watch list.
They were detained and are facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
