LUCENA CITY — A live-in couple was shot and killed while sleeping by a still unidentified assailant in San Pablo City, Laguna province on Saturday, May 6.
In a report, the Region 4A police said Edgardo Dayag, 59, and Elaine Ciolo, 25, were both sleeping inside their bedroom in Barangay (village) San Jose at around 9:30 p.m. when a gunman opened fire at their house.
The attacker fled after the shooting. Both victims were hit by the hail of bullets and died on the spot from fatal gunshot wounds.
An investigation is ongoing to establish the motive behind the killing.
Police launched a manhunt operation to arrest the assailant.
