Mandaue to award academic excellence

THE Mandaue City College will be conferring the Sotero Cabahug Medal to high school and college students who finished with academic excellence.

Qualified for the Sotero Cabahug award are high school and college students who graduated valedictorian, salutatorian, summa cum laude and magna cum laude in any school.

The award, according to Susana Cabahug, acting administrator of the Mandaue City College, is in recognition of the “Mandauehanon students’ academic excellence and is also meant to encourage the students from the city to excel their studies.”

The city will confer the awards on April 23 this year.

Meanwhile, six applicants submitted their application for the position of school administrator of the city-owned college.

Cabahug said the board of trustees headed by Mayor Jonas Cortes intends to appoint a permanent administrator before the start of the new school in June.
