2 ‘high-value’ drug suspects busted; P1.36M ‘shabu’ seized in Caloocan City
MANILA, Philippines — The Northern Police District (NPD) on Monday reported the arrest of two “high-value” drug suspects as well as the confiscation of 200 grams of crystal meth, locally known as “shabu,” worth P1.360 million from them in Caloocan City.
According to the NPD, their District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) conducted a buy-bust operation along Asco Ville Road corner NHA Road in Caloocan City’s Barangay 185 on Sunday night, April 23, leading to the arrest of Samsudin Rasid, 33; and Johaima Jamael, 33, both resident of Tala, Caloocan.
During the anti-drug operation, the police said the two suspects yielded a large and a small transparent plastics containing white crystals suspected to be shabu.
The police also said that operatives recovered the P1,000 bill and 49 other pieces of boodle money used by poseur-buyers to purchase the illegal drug, as well as the red Toyota Innova used by the suspects.
Rasid and Jamael, who were brought to the NPD-DDEU office, will face complaints in relation to violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2022, authorities noted. — With reports from Maria Liezl Projella, trainee
