Central Luzon police chief orders deeper probe into attack on Pampanga legal officer
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. has ordered a thorough investigation into the shooting of the Pampanga provincial legal officer in the City of San Fernando on Monday morning.
In a statement, Hidalgo said he specifically ordered Pampanga police director Col. Levi Hope Basilio to “exert all means for the speedy identification and apprehension of the suspects.”
Pampanga legal officer Gerome Tubig just parked his car in front of VL Makabali Memorial Hospital when two helmet-wearing men aboard a motorcycle arrived and shot his car several times.

The lawyer sustained bullet wounds and was rushed to the hospital after the suspects drove away towards MacArthur Highway.

The Central Luzon director also ordered Pampanga police to protect Tubig and his family until the assailants are identified and arrested.
On Monday afternoon, Pampanga Gov. Dennis Pineda announced that he was offering a P1 million reward to anyone who could identify and pinpoint the location of the motorcycle-riding assailants and the identification of the mastermind behind the attack on Tubig. INQ
