P122,000 shabu seized from 4 suspects in Camarines Sur drug den
LEGAZPI CITY — Anti-narcotics operatives arrested an alleged drug den maintainer and his three visitors and recovered P122,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation on Tuesday, April 12, in San Jose town in Camarines Sur.
Mark Anthony Viray, chief of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Camarines Sur, identified the suspects as John Anthony Navea, 35, a cockpit caretaker and the alleged drug den maintainer; and his visitors, Giovanni Butac, 47; Marieth Ann Grace Fernandez, 22; and a 16-year-old boy.
Another suspect eluded arrest during the operation at 6:05 p.m. in Barangay Catalotoan.
Viray said police and PDEA agents recovered seven sachets or 18 grams of shabu, a caliber .45 Springfield Armory Geneseo 1L with two magazines and 13 bullets, several bundles of unused transparent plastic sachets, aluminum foil strips containing residue of illegal drugs, 25 empty plastic sachets with traces of shabu, and other drug tools.
The suspects face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while the minor was turned over to the social welfare and development officer in the municipality.
