Cops nab ‘gang member;’ seize P47,000 shabu in Camarines Norte buy-bust

Police arrested an alleged member of a notorious drug group and recovered P47,600 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Daet town in Camarines Norte on Tuesday afternoon (April 4).

LEGAZPI CITY — Police arrested an alleged member of a notorious drug group and recovered P47,600 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Daet town in Camarines Norte on Tuesday afternoon (April 4).

Lieutenant Colonel Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said in a report that Mark Angelo Samante, 28, was arrested in a hotel in Barangay (village) Lag-on at around 1:10 p.m. Confiscated during the operation were seven grams of shabu and P500 buy-bust money.

Calubaquib said Samante was a member of the Gutierrez drug group operating in the province.

He was placed under the custody of the police and will be facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
