Meralco assures customers of uninterrupted service during Holy Week

MANILA, Philippines–Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) has guaranteed its 7.6 million customers of uninterrupted and stable electricity service during the long Holy Week break.

“We are one with the nation in observing a solemn and safe Holy Week, and we would like to assure our customers that Meralco personnel will remain on standby to respond to concerns and emergencies,” said Joe R. Zaldarriaga, Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications.

Zaldarriaga said that while Meralco Business Centers will be closed from April 6 to 10 in observance of the Easter Triduum and the Araw ng Kagitingan, the company’s personnel will remain available 24/7 to address any electricity-related concerns.

He also encouraged customers to practice electrical safety and energy efficiency during this period.

Customers leaving town are advised to turn off appliances, while those staying home are urged to avoid using dangerous “octopus connections” and to store electrical cords properly.
