SORSOGON CITY — Two New People’s Army (NPA) rebels surrendered on Monday to government troops in Barcelona town in Sorsogon province, a police report said Tuesday, April 4.
The report said the surrenderers, “Ka Bro” and “Ka Dan,” were members of Larangan 1 and Komite ng Probinsiya 3, which operates in Sorsogon.
The two surrendered at 12:15 p.m. to the Army’s 31st and 22nd Infantry Battalions and local police in Barangay Fabrica.
They also pointed government troops to the hiding place of four high-caliber firearms: two 5.56mm M16A1 and two 5.56mm AR-15. They also surrendered ammunition, eight magazines, and other equipment.
The two ex-rebels are now in the custody of the authorities for investigation.
They will be processed to benefit from the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.
