Gov’t troops recover explosives, bullets after clash with NPA in Camarines Sur
LEGAZPI CITY — The Philippine Army recovered explosives and bullets after an encounter on Thursday with alleged members of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Bula town in Camarines Sur.
Captain Frank Roldan, public affairs office chief of the Army’s 9th Infantry Division, reported that the 49th Infantry Battalion figured in a seven-minute clash around 10 a.m. with the NPA rebels in Barangay Caorasan.
Roldan said government troops conducted an operation after residents reported the presence of armed men in the area.
He said no casualties were recorded on the government side.
They recovered two anti-personnel mines, bullets, a magazine and propaganda materials. INQ
