Floods force evacuation of 50 in Quezon City district

MANILA, Philippines — About persons were evacuated from an area in Quezon City affected by floods Thursday night, a police spokesman said.

Philippine National Police spokesman Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said that they were evacuated from Gumamela St. in Roxas District, Quezon City because water from a creek in the area had overflowed.

The families have been taken to a covered court of their barangay (village) hall.
