Palace declares March 18 special non-working day in Masbate

A 39-year-old motorcycle driver was killed after he was hit by a truck in Uson town, Masbate province on Thursday (March 2), police said.

MASBATE CITY — Malacañang has declared March 18 as a special non-working day in Masbate province to mark its 122nd founding anniversary.

The holiday declaration was signed on Feb. 23 by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin. A copy of the proclamation was posted on the social media page of the Masbate Provincial Information Office on Wednesday, March 15.

“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Masbate be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies,” Proclamation No. 163 stated.
