2 suspected drug pushers yield P340,000 shabu, gun in Quezon province

Quezon police operatives arrested four alleged drug pushers and seized more than P271,000 worth of shabu during separate anti-illegal drug operations on February 18.

LUCENA CITY — Police in Quezon province busted on Wednesday and Thursday two drug pushers, and seized more than P340,272 worth of shabu (crystal meth) and an illegal firearm.

Colonel Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, reported that operatives in Tiaong town arrested around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, Rommel Macaraeg, 47, after he sold P15,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay Lalig.

Seized from Macaraeg were two sachets of meth worth P224,400 and an undocumented and loaded caliber .9mm pistol.

The same police team collared around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday Edman Magboo, 29, in Barangay Quipot.

Magboo yielded three sachets of shabu worth P115,872 in the street market.

The arrested suspects were identified as shabu peddlers and tagged as street-level individuals on the drug watch list in the locality.

They were detained and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Macaraeg will be slapped with another case for illegal possession of a firearm.
