Cops nab 4 drug traffickers in Quezon province

Quezon police operatives arrested four alleged drug pushers and seized more than P271,000 worth of shabu during separate anti-illegal drug operations on February 18.

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested four alleged drug pushers and seized more than P124,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 7 and 8, in Quezon province.

Quezon police chief Colonel Ledon Monte said in a report that anti-narcotics operatives in Tiaong town collared Lhay-R De Castro, 33, at about 11 p.m. on Tuesday after selling a pack of shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay Lusacan.

Authorities seized three sachets of shabu worth P67,320 in the street market.

The same police team also busted Melvin Redimo, 25, in Barangay Lalig around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. The suspect yielded P11,424 worth of meth.

In Mauban town, policemen held at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday Jerwin de Leon, 21, in Barangay Balay-Balay. The cops confiscated P18,360 worth of shabu.

Meanwhile, anti-illegal drug operatives in Tayabas City busted at 8:02 p.m. on Tuesday Medel Malete in Barangay Wakas.

The police seized P27,540 worth of shabu from the suspect.

The report tagged the three suspects as street-level traffickers in their respective localities, while Malete is listed as a rookie in the illegal drugs trade.

All suspects were detained and will be charged of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
