Ex-drug convict busted anew in Quezon, yields P520,000 shabu

Over P330,000 shabu seized from 3 drug traffickers in Quezon

LUCENA CITY — A former drug convict was arrested early Tuesday, Feb. 7, by Candelaria town police in Quezon province and yielded more than P520,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth).

Lieutenant Colonel Dennis de Leon, Candelaria police chief, said in a report that Marvin Guino, 26, of the locality, was collared by the police drug enforcement unit in a buy-bust operation around 2 a.m. in Barangay Mangilag Sur.

Guino yielded two sachets of meth weighing 25.5 grams with a street value of P520,200 at P20,400 per gram, the report said.

The report tagged the suspect as a street-level individual on the drug watchlist.

The police said Guino was previously convicted in October 2020 on drug charges in Muntinlupa City but did not state why and when he was freed.

The suspect is now back in jail and facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
