Man’s heartbreaking appeal to find missing dog goes viral
MANILA, Philippines — A man who made a heartbreaking appeal on social media in hopes of finding his missing dog has gone viral, receiving an outpouring of support from fellow fur parents online.
On Mar. 9, Facebook user Noel Perez posted a photo of his four-year-old female Aspin (asong Pinoy) named Aki, who managed to slip out of their house in Barangay Peñaranda, Legazpi City, Albay, after his partner forgot to lock their gate last Feb. 27.
“Wala man po akong pang-reward money, [kung] sino po [ang] makakita at makapagsabi kung nasaan siya [ay handa] po akong magsilbi sa inyo,” Perez captioned his post.
(I may not have reward money to offer, but whoever could locate and tell her whereabouts, I am ready to serve you.)
“Ako [ang] maghuhugas ng plato, [maglilinis] ng bahay, [maglalaba] o kahit anong household chores [ay] gagawin ko [matagpuan] ko lang ang baby dog namin,” he added.

In an interview, Perez told the Inquirer that Aki does not wear a leash so she could roam freely at home. He said he was heartbroken after discovering what happened to Aki, so he thought of posting on social media to call for help.
“Ubod ng lambing [noong] si Aki at nauuna pa siya sa higaan kapag matutulog na; gusto niya lagi namin siyang katabi for four years,” Perez recounted.
(Aki is very affectionate, and she is often the first to go to bed when it’s time to sleep; she always wanted us to sleep next to her for four years.)
“[Kaso], wala kaming pera [para ibigay sa kung sino mang makahahanap kay Aki]. We are both public school teachers here in Legazpi City, Albay. Eh hindi naman po ako skilled worker, kaya sinabi ko na handa akong magsilbi ng kahit anong household chores,” he went on to say.
(However, we do not have any money [to offer to whoever finds Aki]. My partner and I are both public school teachers here in Legazpi City, Albay. Well, I’m not a skilled worker, so I offered to do any household chores instead.)
As of this writing, Perez said they still have not found their beloved dog. Meanwhile, his post has already amassed over 22,000 reactions, 7,000 comments, and over 12,000 shares.
Those who may have any leads about Aki’s whereabouts may reach Noel Perez through his Facebook account or contact him at 09974654505.
