LUCENA CITY – Two persons died in separate shooting incidents in Quezon province on Saturday, March 11, police said on Sunday, March 12.
Police reported that Justine Valdoria and Michael Arandia along with some friends were having a drinking session in Barangay (village) Canda in Sariaya town at around 7 p.m.
The report said that due to drunkenness, a heated argument ensued between Valdoria and Arandia that prompted the later to draw his caliber .38 gun and shoot Valdoria in his chest.
Arandia fled after the shooting. The victim died while being taken to Lucena United Doctors Hospital in neighboring Lucena City.
Police launched a manhunt operation to arrest the assailant.
In Catanauan town, a still unidentified gunman shot Crispin Abratigue outside his house in Barangay Tagbacan Ilaya at around 11:20 p.m.
Police said the suspect was calling the victim’s mother who was already asleep, so the victim was the one who responded and stepped outside of the house.
Abratigue was immediately shot by the waiting gunman who fled after the shooting and left the victim dead on the spot.
The police are conducting further investigations to unmask the gunman and establish the motive behind the killing.
