LUCENA CITY — The Philippine National Police in Cavite province has advised motorists to check on and use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion in the towns of Indang, Amadeo, Tanza and Trece Martires City due to the special congressional election on Saturday, Feb. 25.
The Commission on Elections set the special election for the congressional seat vacated by Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla in the 7th district.
Police reminded the public of the liquor ban in the district that started on Feb. 24 and will end until the last minutes of election day on Saturday.
Checkpoints were also put up in strategic areas in the district to implement the gun ban.
The 7th district covers the towns of Tanza, Indang, Amadeo, and Trece Martires City. The district has a voting population of more than 300,000.
The four aspirants for the vacated congressional seat include provincial Board Member Crispin Diego Remulla, son of the justice secretary; former Trece Martires City Mayor Melencio Loyola de Sagun Jr.; Jose Angelito Aguinaldo; and Michael Angelo Santos.
