MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) on Friday said that it distributed farm machines worth P7.5 million to agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBO) in Central Visayas.
“We will provide you with the necessary projects to make your lands productive and provide you with bountiful harvest and quality products to lead the way to your economic progress,” Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III said.
Among the ARBOs in Bohol were the Cagawasan Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Farmer Beneficiary Multipurpose Cooperative and the Bulilis Agrarian Reform Communities Cooperative. Each of them received P1.298 million worth of farm tractors and implements.
“In Negros Oriental, the Himocdongon ARB and Farmers Association and Nangka Agrarian Reform Farmers Cooperative also received farm tractors and implements worth P2.249 million and P1.325 million, respectively,” said the DAR.
According to the agency, the Lico-an Siquijor Farmers Irrigators Association also got the same machine and equipment worth P1.325 million.
The turnover was simultaneously led by Estrella in Bohol, DAR Undersecretary Kazel Celeste in Negros Oriental, and Assistant Secretary Marjorie Ayson in Cebu on Tuesday.
