1,236 Caraga beneficiaries receive land from DAR
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 1,952 hectares of agricultural lands has been distributed among 1,236 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Caraga, said the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) on Thursday.
“The distributed lands were from the provinces of Agusan del Sur, with 1,096.0182 hectares; Surigao del Norte, 301.6279 hectares; Suriago del Sur, 222.1077 hectares; Agusan del Norte, 194.8009 hectares; and Dinagat Island, with 137.8692 hectares,” said the DAR in a statement.
The DAR also said that several farm to market roads were built in the region. Here is a list of the areas who benefitted with the respective cost of road construction:
Surigao del Sur
- Barobo – P50 million
- San Miguel – P57.6 million
- Madrid – P27.2 million
- Carmen – P20.8 million
- Cagwait – P20.4 million
- Tago – P24 million
Agusan del Sur

A bridge was also built in the municipality of Madrid worth P8.98 million, bringing the total worth of infrastructure projects in the region to P215 million.
Article continues after this advertisementAccording to DAR, ARBs in the region also received a total of P 25.5 million farm machinery, as well as greenhouse and tissue culture facilities.
“Atty. Kazel Celeste, DAR Undersecretary for Field Operation Office, said the government needs to look after the farmers welfare, because apart from helping them improve their living conditions, their profession provides Filipinos food requirements, three times a day and seven days a week,” the statement said.
