Chopped hands, list of 22 persons linked to illegal drugs found in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY — Chopped off hands submerged in beef broth with jackfruit and a list of 22 persons linked to illegal drugs was found Wednesday, Jan. 25, in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2 in this city.

A tricycle driver found the left and right hands inside a plastic ice cream container.

The 22 persons on the list are from puroks Kagaykay and Sigay, thickly populated areas in Barangay 2, said Police Station 2 chief Captain Jonito Pastrana.

The list also stated that a certain RR from Police Station 2 was a drug protector, Pastrana said.

They are still determining who RR is, he said.

The message on the note said “tanan kamo kung indi mag-untat raffle lang na (all of you, if you don’t stop, this is going to a raffle).”

“This may be a warning to the persons on the list,” Pastrana said.

The police chief said they were still determining whom the chopped off hands belonged to.

Barangay 2 Captain Emelda Banguanga said those on the list were former prisoners under parole and probation, and the others were to undergo drug rehabilitation.

“There are two persons reported missing from Barangay 2 in November,” she said.

A 30-year-old woman, whose name was number three on the list, said she feared for her life.

She said she was on probation and was no longer involved in drugs.

“I want to be given a chance for a new life,” she said.

The police would meet with the barangay officials to discuss the safety of the persons on the list, Pastrana said.
