NTF-Elcac on NSA adviser Año: ‘He will never let us down’

MANILA, Philippines — The anticommunist task force on Thursday expressed high hopes on the appointment of Eduardo Año as the National Security Adviser, saying they know the official “will never let us down.”
Año replaced Clarita Carlos as the chief of the National Security Council.

“I know that he will never let us down,” Emmanuel Salamat, executive director of the NTF-Elcac, said in a statement, adding that “it is time to further strengthen and double our delivery of development programs and projects.”

The National Security Adviser serves as the vice chairperson of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-Elcac).
Salamat also said that Año will be a “boon” to the NTF-Elcac due to his experience as the Armed Forces of the Philippines chief-of-staff and the Department of Interior And Local Government Secretary.
“I am certain that he will be a boon to the National Task Force,” he also said. “Both as Chief of Staff and DILG Secretary, he had already proven that he values the efficiency of an organization above anything else.”
