SAN MARIANO, Isabela — Three people were killed after their tricycle was hit by a speeding pickup car along the road in Alibadabad village here on Wednesday (Jan. 18), police said.

Investigators said two fatalities — Jacqueline Merlin, 35, and Chona Monasquil, 35 — were declared dead on arrival at the San Mariano Medical Hospital.

The other fatality, identified as Joel Merlin, who was driving the tricycle, died while being taken to a private hospital in Cauayan City.

Police said the victims were on their way to fetch a relative when they figured in the accident.

Pickup car driver Elmer Telan, 43, of Minanga village here, surrendered to the police.
