1 dead, 4 hurt in Batangas road crash
LUCENA CITY – A 53-year-old driver died early Thursday (Dec. 29) after his vehicle hit the concrete divider along the Maharlika Highway in Sto. Tomas City, Batangas province.
The Batangas police reported that Jose Marlon Peliño was driving a Hyundai Eon hatchback when he accidentally bumped the concrete center island of the highway in Barangay Santiago at 3:15 a.m.
The driver and his four passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to the nearest hospital, but Peliño was declared dead on arrival.
Police were conducting further investigations. INQ
