Two LPAs now inside PAR; cloudy skies, rain to persist in parts of PH – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — Two low-pressure areas (LPAs) are currently inside the Philippine area of responsibility as a new one developed on Tuesday, state meteorologists said.
The latest LPA was last located 125 kilometers west-northwest of Puerto Princesa City while the earlier LPA was spotted 290 kilometers east of Maasin City, Southern Leyte, based on the 4 a.m. weather bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
The prevailing forecast showed that both LPAs are not likely to intensify into tropical cyclones.
“May panibago tayong low pressure area na namataan na nasa layong 125 kilometers west-northwest o kanuluran- hilagang kanluran naman ng Puerto Princesa City dito naman sa may bahagi ng Palawan at maliit din ‘yung tsansa na ito ay maging bagyo,” said Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina.
(There is a new low-pressure area spotted 125 kilometers west-northwest of Puerto Princesa and it also has a small chance of becoming a tropical cyclone).

The northeast monsoon’s effects also prompted the state weather service to raise a gale warning over the coasts of Batanes, Cagayan and the Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, La Union, Isabela, Aurora, Northern Quezon, and Camarines Norte, as well as the northern seaboard of Camarines Sur and the northern and eastern seaboards of Catanduanes.
