Scuba diver drowns after suffering cardiac arrest in Sipalay City

A member of the Philippine Life Saving Society (PLS) died while scuba diving in the waters off Barangay 4, Sipalay City in Negros Occidental on Tuesday afternoon, January 10.

BACOLOD CITY — A member of the Philippine Life Saving Society (PLS) died while scuba diving in the waters off Barangay 4, Sipalay City, in Negros Occidental on Tuesday afternoon, January 10.

Henry Aguillon, 57, and a resident of Himamaylan City, suffered from cardiac arrest before he drowned, said Danilo Bogtae, head of the Sipalay Emergency Assistance and Rescue Services.

“He was scuba diving with four other PLS members when the incident occurred,” Bogtae said.
