Cops arrest Tarlac town’s most wanted man

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Police arrested 46 people, some of whom had pending warrants, after week-long anti-crime operations in Tarlac.

In a statement on Monday (Jan. 9), the Tarlac police said those arrested included four on the most-wanted list.

Colonel Erwin Sanque, Tarlac police director, said the operations from Jan. 2 to 8 also resulted in the arrest of eight suspected drug peddlers and the confiscation of 95 heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu and 31 sachets of marijuana.

He said the suspects were charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Three other people were arrested for illegal gambling, while four others were apprehended during distress calls from concerned citizens.

Sanque said two people, whose licenses to own firearms had expired, turned over their guns to the police for safekeeping in compliance with the “Oplan Katok” anti-loose firearms program.

He said the Tarlac police would continue to conduct anti-criminality operations for the safety of citizens. INQ
