Alleged high value drug trafficker, 2 others yield P306,000 ‘shabu’ in Cavite

LUCENA CITY – Police anti-narcotics operatives arrested a female “high-value” drug trafficker and her two associates and seized P306,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Saturday, Jan. 7.

The Region 4A police reported Sunday, Jan. 8, that members of the local drug enforcement unit busted Cristina Caboncag, Reenwell Delos Santos, and Juanito Basilesco after they allegedly sold shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay (village) Victoria Reyes around 8 p.m.

Authorities confiscated from the suspects 16 sachets of meth weighing 45 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P306,000.

The seized shabu is worth P918,000 in the street market at the prevailing price of P20,400 per gram.

Authorities are investigating the source of the drugs.

Police tagged Caboncag as included on the police drug watch list as an “HVI” or high-value individual on the local drug scene. Delos Santos and Basilesco were classified as street-level drug pushers on the police list.

They were detained and are facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
