LUCENA CITY — More than P1 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) was confiscated Wednesday morning, Jan. 4, from two suspected drug traffickers in a buy-bust operation in this city.

Lieutenant Colonel Ericson Roranes, Lucena City police chief, reported that anti-illegal drugs operatives collared “Lorebeth,” a high-value drug personality, and her associate, “Edward,” after the duo sold P5,000 worth of meth in a transaction at 9:50 a.m. in Barangay Ibabang Dupay.

Authorities confiscated from the suspects 36 sachets of shabu weighing 153 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P1,057,080.

It is worth P3,125,280 in the street market, at P20,400 per gram, said the report.

Authorities are investigating the source of the drugs.

Both suspects were detained and face complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
