Rain to continue over parts of Luzon, Visayas – Pagasa

The northeast monsoon will continue to bring rain over most parts of Luzon on Wednesday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon will continue to rain over most parts of Luzon on Wednesday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Inaasahan natin na sa may bahagi ng Bicol Region pati na rin sa ibang parte ng Mimaropa, magpapatuloy ang maulap na kalangitan na may mga kalat kalat na pagulan, pagkidlat at pagkulog,” said Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres.

(We expect that in parts of the Bicol Region as well as in other parts of Mimaropa, cloudy skies will continue with scattered showers, lightning, and thunderstorm.)

“Samantalang sa eastern portion ng Luzon magiging maulap na may mga pagulan, samantalang sa nalalabing bahagi ng bansa kabilang ang Metro Manila, partly cloudy to cloudy skies,” she added.

(In the eastern portion of Luzon, it will be cloudy with rain showers, while in the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, partly cloudy to cloudy skies.)

Cloudy skies and rain showers are expected to prevail over the entire Visayas, while relatively fair weather is expected over Mindanao.

Meanwhile, the low-pressure area being monitored outside the Philippine area of responsibility was last spotted 225 kilometers south of Mindanao.

Gale warning is still raised over several seaboards, particularly Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Batanes, La Union, Pangasinan, Cagayan, Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Aurora, Northern Quezon, including the eastern coast of Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, Northern Coast of Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.

Torres warned of these waters’ wave heights ranging from 2.8 to 4.5 meters.

The state weather bureau said the temperature range in key cities/areas across the country for Wednesday would be:

  • Metro Manila: 24 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Baguio City: 15 to 24 degrees Celsius
  • Laoag City:  23 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Tuguegarao: 22 to 26 degrees Celsius
  • Legazpi City: 24 to 29 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa City: 24 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay: 21 to 28 degrees Celsius
  • Kalayaan Islands: 24 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Iloilo City: 24 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Cebu: 24 to 29 degrees Celsius
  • Tacloban City: 23 to 28 degrees Celsius
  • Cagayan De Oro City: 23 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Zamboanga City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Davao City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
