More than two years after the 2009 Maguindanao massacre, a Quezon City court has finally set a  date for the arraignment of  Zaldy Ampatuan on multiple murder charges.

Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes of QC Regional Trial Court Branch 221 scheduled the hearing for  April 26 at 9 a.m. at Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.

This after the court junked two of Ampatuan’s pleadings—the one questioning the amended information charging him in  the killings and the court’s order jailing him at the Quezon City Jail Annex in Bicutan.

Ampatuan, former governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, is the brother of Andal Ampatuan Jr., the primary suspect in the multiple murder case. Their father, Andal Sr., is also charged. With Julie M. Aurelio, PDI
