Alleged marijuana trader nabbed in Laguna

Police arrested early Friday (Dec. 30) an alleged notorious trader of marijuana, or "weed," in a buy-bust operation in San Pablo City, Laguna province.

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested early Friday (Dec. 30) an alleged notorious trader of marijuana, or “weed,” in a buy-bust operation in San Pablo City, Laguna province.

In a report, the San Pablo police said anti-illegal drugs operatives collared Rhovin Juewelle Tabales after he was caught selling P1,500 worth of illegal hemp to a poseur buyer in Barangay Del Remedio at 1:07 a.m.

Authorities seized three packs of high-grade marijuana, or “kush,” weighing 30 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P45,000.

The police also seized 21 sachets of dried marijuana leaves and seeds with a DDB value of P27,600.

Also confiscated was a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspect in his illegal drug trade.

The suspect was detained at the local police jail and is facing charges of violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
