Bohol governor distributes cash aid to fire-hit Tagbilaran residents
TAGBILARAN CITY—At least 75 families affected by a fire in Barangay (village) Poblacion 2 here received P10,000 each from the provincial government of Bohol on Thursday, Dec. 29.
Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado personally handed over the cash to the families affected by the fire.
The event coincided with the governor’s 45th birthday.
Aumentado said he decided to ditch a party and instead spent his birthday helping victims.
“I chose to celebrate my birthday with the victims and remind them that many love them,” he said. “There is still hope.”

Article continues after this advertisementAumentado said the government allocated financial aid to 75 families who were homeless after a big fire that killed three people last Dec. 23.
The governor was accompanied by Vice Gov. Victor Balite, Rep. Vanessa Cadorna-Aumentado of the second district, Tagbilaran Vice Mayor Adam Jala, and Barangay Poblacion 2 chairman Allan Ricardo Real.
