MANILA, Philippines – Ariel Nepomuceno, former Deputy Commissioner for the Enforcement Group of the Bureau of Customs, is the new administrator of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).

Malacañang confirmed this on Wednesday as the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) shared photos of Nepomuceno taking his oath of office before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

Nepomuceno was reappointed to the BOC by President Rodrigo Duterte on November 8, 2017, barely three months after he tendered his courtesy resignation to give way to the new leadership of Isidro Lapeña, who succeeded as BOC commissioner after Nicanor Faeldon.

Aside from Nepomuceno, Malacañang likewise confirmed the appointment of Angelito Magno and Glenn Ricarte as assistant directors of the National Bureau of Investigation.

Earlier, the OPS also announced the appointment of Richard “Dickie” Bachmann as the new chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission, replacing Noli Eala, who sat at the agency’s helm for about four months.
