COVID-19 positivity rate in Zambales continues to rise

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Zambales has doubled in three days

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — For the fourth consecutive week, the COVID-19 positivity rate in this province increased as the local health office continued to tally new cases.

OCTA Research said the weekly positivity rate in Zambales rose to 14.4 percent on Dec. 17 from 11.7 percent on Dec. 10.

Data from the Department of Health showed that the upward trend began during the last week of November.

The COVID-19 positivity rate refers to the percentage of tests that turn out positive.

Zambales remained among the provinces that continued to experience an increasing positivity rate.

As of Sunday, Dec. 18, the number of active COVID-19 cases in the province stood at 32 after recording three new infections. INQ
