COVID-19 positivity rate in Zambales climbs anew
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — The weekly COVID-19 positivity rate in Zambales province rose further as the active infections continued to increase, independent pandemic monitor OCTA Research said Monday, Dec. 12.
Citing data from the Department of Health, OCTA Research said the COVID-19 positivity rate in Zambales climbed to 11.7 percent on Dec. 10 from 10.7 percent on Dec. 3.
It was the third straight week that OCTA Research noted a spike in the province’s positivity rate, which refers to the percentage of tests that turn out positive.
As of Sunday, the number of active infections in Zambales stood at 28 after recording four new cases that day.
Since 2020, the province has registered 12,570 COVID-19 cases, with 11,821 recoveries and 721 deaths. INQ
