2 drown in Cavite beach resort
LUCENA CITY — A picnic turned tragic after two men drowned Sunday in a beach resort in Ternate, Cavite province, the police said.
Lolito Bolea, 55, and Joy Medina, 46, and their companion, Sandy Poblete, went swimming around 1 p.m. at Paniman Beach Resort in Barangay Sapang, when high waves dragged them to deeper parts of the water, the Region 4A police said in a report.
The three failed to swim back to the shore, according to witnesses.
Rescuers managed to save Poblete, but Bolea and Medina died from drowning. INQ
